Homework 6

Hi guys/gals!

Sorry it was a little late. I trust you had a good day on Friday!

It was rather rainy and unpleasant for me too!

Anyway here is the homework link... Homework 6 !

And the Today's Meet for ... this week !

I will just paste the homework at the bottom too for those that have trouble opening it.  There is an Experiment Sheet on the 2nd page of the homework which I can give you hard copies at school on Monday - so worry not!

Remember, on Monday I want to see your homework and spelling sheets!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Mr Wong

P.S. I just mowed the lawn!

Homework for Week 8 and 9

We have been having a great time with science this term and have already seen many, many physical and chemical change experiments. Now it is your turn. What have you been interested in investigating? What do you want to know more about?

The following criteria must be completely met by Tuesday, 17th of April, with a progress check on Wednesday, 28th of March:

- Research and decide on a chemical change experiment you would like to investigate further
- Have your chemical change experiment approved by your teacher.
- Complete the experiment at home, with the help of your parents, within the next two weeks.
- Decide on a way to display your experiment to the class. You may want to make a short video, put pictures in a PowerPoint or bring in a sample of what you made to discuss with the class. Colourful visuals are always helpful!
- Write out a neat copy of the “Experiment Sheet” for your experiment.
- Bring it to class to share on Tuesday, 17th of April. You should plan to talk to the class about your experiment and the results for 2 minutes.

Remember:
Indicators of Chemical Change/Reaction
- Light, heat or sound given off
- Change of colour
- Change in temperature or energy
- Change of form (shape)/state
- Formation of gases (bubbles)
- Formation of precipitate (insoluble particles, where you get a solid from a liquid)
- Decomposition of organic matter (rotting)
- Denature – change protein/carbohydrates/starch/sugar, such as in popcorn and rice.
